About

A holistic, one-on-one physical therapy practice utilizing unique and specialized bodywork alongside exercise, nutrition and mind/body coaching to address pain and dysfunction from the root.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy & Pre/Post-Partum Care

PhoenixMay2021-5.jpg

I use specialized treatment techniques to address the pelvic floor, the often forgotten core muscles that form a sling across our hip bones. These techniques help people of all genders dealing with bowel, bladder and sexual dysfunction, pre/post-partum concerns, pelvic pain, low back pain, and much more. I am also a certified Doula who can prep you and yoru body for the ideal birth and support you during the birthing experience, if desired.

Specialties

Visceral Mobilization

digital composite of highlighted red internal organs suffering from serious disease.jpg

I have studied under renowned European Osteopathic doctors who developed these specific, gentle but powerful techniques to find and release restrictions around the many organs of the body. Whether its the liver, lungs, kidney, thyroid, or something as small as a bundle of blood vessels, the body knows our organs are the 'priority' and necessary for living, so it will twist and turn the body to make up for a restrictions that are truly around the organs. Along with often experiencing an improvement in organ function, this can be a key to unlocking longstanding body pain areas and asymmetry that haven't responded to other techniques.  They can also help sufferers of gut dysfunction and disease, long-COVID, headaches, surgical trauma, and much more.

EDS,  Hypermobility & Other Chronic Conditions

PhoenixMay2021-18.jpg

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders are complex chronic conditions that often involve increased laxity in the connective tissue, chronic instability, autonomic dysfunction, gut issues, myofascial pain, and many other disabling symptoms. My own journey with EDS has given me a passion for finding and developing specific techniques to help those with EDS/HSD find greater function and fulfillment. I also have experience treating folks with a wide variety of other autoimmune and chronic conditions, such as Ulcerative Colitis and Chrohn's Disease, various types of arthiritis, nuerological conditions, and more. I treat these conditions virtually through Bend not Break Virtual Coachinghybrid, and in person in Boerne.

Craniosacral Therapy

Upledger Craniosacral Therapy is an advanced osteopathic technique that involves gentle, highly specific techniques to release torsions in the bones of the skull and the membranes surrounding the brain, realign the jaw, spine, sacrum and other body structures, and optimize brain and fluid flow in/out of the brain region. Among many others, these treatments can be very effective for those struggling with migraines headaches, brain fog or anxiety, infants, children and adults with speech or feeding difficulties, autism, or other developmental delays, those with traumatic brain injuries and concussions, and those with chronic back and neck pain. I have taken all the foundational Craniosacral courses as well as advanced courses for pediatrics, brain injuries and concussions and pre/post partum care.

Sports & Orthopedics

Integrative treatment of a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries and chronic pain. Often involves biomechanical analysis, targeted exercises, joint mobilization, trigger point dry needling, cupping, kinesiotaping, and advanced myofascial release, amongst others.

Myofascial Release

PhoenixMay2021-21.jpg

Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds every muscle, joint and nerve in our bodies. It carries nutrients and plays an important role in how the body stores and copes with traumatic events. I use a specialized form of massage developed by John Barnes uses long, sustained pressure to release tension stored in the connective tissue. It can also help to release physical or emotional trauma the body has stored over time.

WHAT PATIENTS SAY

Textured Paper Background

CARRIE

I am a 71 yr old woman who, for the past 11 months, has been unable to function due to a complex combination of neurological and musculoskeletal issues. After several frustrating months of being viewed as isolated body parts by various specialty doctors and physical therapists, Dr Kendel Lipe is a breath of fresh air—a wonderful balm for my body, mind, and soul. After discovering Dr. Kendel, I knew at the first visit that I was in the right place. She clearly has high ethical and professional standards, and it is easy to tell how much she cares about her patients. Her expert training in a wide variety of both conventional and science based alternative techniques gives her the tools to truly provide an individualized approach to wholistic care. She’s a true problem solver and loves to keep digging until we get to the root cause of things. She also has Millie--the best therapy dog in the entire world!

EMILY

Dr. Lipe a delightful, intelligent and grounded doctor and am so thankful I was referred to her.
One of her specialities is in dysautonomia and she uses a variety of techniques to affect the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems including deep myofascial release, cupping, pt tape, vasovagal stimulation, and others. I know all these because she explains the science behind her techniques and if it is something I can do at home, she shows me how to do it. She is very in tune with circulation and energies in the body much based on her own experience with dyautonomia as well as her qualifications in PT and deep myofascial tissue work. She tailors each session to you and gives excersises to strengthen and maintain that energized feeling from the sessions.

MARGUERITE

Dr. Lipe’s gentle and confident demeanor made me feel comfortable enough to not only share really personal information about issues I was having with my pelvic floor, but also feel safe enough to actually accept the help that I needed. She took the time to listen and understand my history. She is professional and effective. Thanks to Dr. Lipe, I finally got the relief I needed and was able to move on and enjoy parts of my life that I had been missing.

Insurance & Payment

My goal is always to provide the highest level of specialized care, filling our time with exactly what you need and not what is dictated by insurance companies.

In order to do this, I have chosen not to contract as an in-network provider with any insurance company and do not bill your insurance directly. All payment will be required in full at the time of service. However,  if you are in Texas and have a prescription for PT, I can provide you with a superbill you can submit to your insurance company directly for out-of-network coverage and reimbursement. Virtual sessions may or not be given a superbill,  depending on where you are located (I can only offer superbills in Texas right now) and what the session entails.

If you have questions about my pricing, how payment and reimbursement work, or simply want to call to discuss your symptoms and if we would be a good fit, please click here to schedule a free 10 minute phone consultation!
